3. Why did you choose market research?
In all honesty, market research was a career path that simply presented itself. I was working part-time in a market research call center during university and the opportunities to progress from there were plentiful. I met an SVP from Ipsos at an industry training session and haven't looked back since.

5. Which office do you work in?

6. Why are you "Proud to Be Ipsos"?
I'm "Proud to Be Ipsos" for three key reasons: the company, the people, and the work. To begin with, Ipsos as a company Ipsos has been very supportive in allowing me to pursue and explore a variety of interest areas within the company, starting with my move from Market Research in Toronto to Public Affairs in Calgary, to an opportunity moderating with Ipsos UU in the US, and now back to Public Affairs. Management in each area has provided helpful guidance and support through all of these transitions in my career. The type of flexibility and variety of opportunities Ipsos has to offer are hard to come by.
The people at Ipsos, in my opinion, are second to none. The expertise, professionalism, and interest in helping others build their careers among senior management are key reasons I'm still here 7 years later.
Finally, the work is engaging, challenging, and fulfilling. Whether it was working on new internet service testing in market research, moderating concept groups for a huge packaged goods company, or providing strategic advice to senior City officials, the type of work that Ipsos does makes it easy to show up each day.
7. What is your advice to applicants/new recruits
If you're someone who is looking for a career that is challenging and engaging with people who love what they do, Ipsos is the right place for you. Take the opportunity to connect with as many people as you can, ask lots of questions, and don't be afraid to try new things across the Ipsos family of companies.

3. Why did you choose market research?
My focus in college was marketing. As part of the first couple of marketing classes, market research was included. I found the topic to be quite interesting and actually found it peculiar that our professor would mention that we would be someday users of this type of information so it was important to understand how to interpret, but we'd likely not be the ones actually doing it. Well, fast-forward a couple of statistics classes and a career opportunity with Vantis a year or so later and the rest, shall we say, is history...
4. What is your education?

M.B.A. with emphasis in Marketing

6. Why are you "Proud to Be Ipsos"?
There are many reasons why I am "Proud to Be Ipsos". Many points stem from basis of what it is to work within the Vantis group - the people are a significant part of this in that it's great working with so many smart, driven, hard-working people who can also bring a bit of levity to the mix when needed. Of course, the work that we do is interesting, challenging, diverse, and rewarding, which keeps everyone engaged in providing the best service internally and externally.
As for being a part of the greater whole of Ipsos, having had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the other Ipsos groups has reinforced how well the Ipsos culture permeates throughout the organization. It's great to be able to offer our clients a "united front" in providing them with services that meet their varied needs.

3. Why did you choose market research?
I used to work in Public Policy and enjoyed the research work, but felt that I was missing out on a more exciting opportunity. Market research provides me with the excitement I seek - being able to research consumer behavior and help companies create, improve and market every day goods to meet our needs doesn't get boring. There is always something new to explore and learn. And I love helping our clients find solutions to challenges presented by today's ever changing marketplace.

6. Why are you "Proud to Be Ipsos"?
Because the people here are the best - and I can't say it enough. We have a very talented staff - people that are dedicated to research, meeting client needs and enjoy their daily work. But even more so, our staff is down to earth, friendly and work together as a family. The positive attitude people have, even in the midst of craziness and times of heavy workload, makes coming to work every day easy, never dreaded. And I love the fact that communication is open across all levels, so it never feels awkward talking to the "higher ups." (Whether its conversing with Nancy Reilly, the President of our local office, or Jim Smith, the President of North America - the friendliness and openness is the same).
7. What is your advice to applicants/new recruits
I'm also proud to be Ipsos, because its great place to grow. I started out as a Project Director and with the help of bosses and HR dedicated to career development I progressed to a Senior Project Director, and now Account Manager.

My first job out of college was at A.C. Nielsen. I thought it would just be a stop along the way until I found something on the client side in brand management. There are so many people at Ipsos that have a rich history in market research. Reach out to everyone you can, especially in those early weeks when you are in training mode, to get various perspectives and advice. I found during my first few months here that some of the most valuable learning moments came from an informal meetings with people across all different levels.
