Friday, July 31, 2009

Vancouver, BC – Marketers and decision makers in BC now have a better option for peering into the minds of their consumers and target audiences. The Vancouver office of Ipsos Reid, Canada's leader in market research and opinion polling, has revitalized and reopened its focus group facility.

"Focus groups offer exceptional qualitative research opportunities and insights and we've updated our facilities to improve the experience for our clients," says Steve Mossop, President of Ipsos Reid's Western Canada operations. "We now have a state of the art facility and a team of moderators that is second to none in the market place."

Typical of many focus group facilities, the in-office Ipsos facility consists of a meeting room and viewing room separated by a one-way mirror. The recent upgrades to Ipsos' Vancouver focus group facility include improved audio/visual capabilities in the meeting room, as well as updates to the viewing room.

The update includes:

  • Upgraded audio recording with drop down microphones
  • New décor and painting in the focus group room
  • Upgraded lighting in the viewing room
  • Upgraded viewing room temperature controls

Other features of the facility include:

  • Stationary camera video recording to DVD
  • Audio recording to digital format
  • DVD Player, VCR and LCD TV
  • Headphones for viewing room
  • Wireless and wired Internet access
  • Easels
  • Computer connection to LCD TV for presentations

The full sized meeting room seats 12 and can also be used to hold meetings. The viewing room can accommodate up to 15, with seating for 8 up at the mirror.

"The improvements to our focus group facility have been designed to make the focus group experience more comfortable for clients and participants alike," concludes Hanson Lok, Senior Research Manager who oversees the facility. "The technology available also allows the client group to make more impactful studies and better decisions in the long run."
