No question that online shopping has caught on. In fact, while 56% of people overall still prefer the touchy, feely, often shared experience of shopping in person (despite lines, weather, crowds, parking problems), the fact that 44% prefer shopping online lends testimony to how easy it is or how busy we are! In BRIC countries, pro-store/pro-online shopping is in a dead heat, with 50% preferring each style. In APAC countries, the preference sways to the online shopping experience, with more than half (53%) citing online shopping as their preference. For those opting for online shopping, the computer is still king: 31% cite it as their choice shopping technology. Marketers: regardless of where people shop, make the experience as easy, enjoyable and seamless as possible.
