Seattle, WA – From San Diego to Seattle, Ipsos Healthcare is focusing the lens in on healthcare consulting along the West Coast of the United States. Mary Tou has joined the team as Senior Vice President of Ipsos Healthcare on the West Coast. Based in Seattle, she will help clients in the region’s bio-pharmaceutical sector integrate insights across the multiple stakeholders that increasingly impact biopharmaceutical brand success. Fred LaManna, Senior Vice President with Ipsos Healthcare, made the announcement.
“Mary’s wide range of bio-pharmaceutical experience ranges from launching commercial operations to driving in-line brand performance. She has the real world experience to help our clients realize their commercial potential.” says LaManna. “With her oncology expertise and experience working in emerging biotechs, Mary will be able to help our West Coast meet their target patient needs and maximize brand potential.”
Tou brings 15 years of health research experience to Ipsos, ten of which focused specifically on Hematology and Oncology. Her diverse background includes working on niche/orphan drugs, larger solid and liquid tumors and supportive care. In addition to Oncology, Tou has worked on projects regarding asthma/allergy, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases and vaccines and medical devices.
Tou joins Ipsos from Seattle Genetics, where she was Director of Market Planning and Analytics, providing commercial strategy and marketplace preparation for their clients. She also worked in all aspects of branding research for both pre- and post-launch of products, as well as in-licensing evaluations. Prior to that, Tou held roles at MedImmune Oncology as Associate Director of Market Research, and at Chrion where she was Manager of Market Research.
“In the healthcare industry, there are constant new product developments and competitors vying for prime positioning and many of those innovations are being developed here on the West Coast,” says Tou. “While many of the West Coast companies are viewed as small or as start-ups, they play a significant role as incubators of big ideas and big solutions. Our goal is to provide quality insights to help these businesses craft the best possible strategy to stand out in the midst of heavy competition and deliver the best possible results to those who need them most – the patients.”
Mary Tou has a range of research specializations in the pharmaceutical, biotechnological and medical device markets, including early to late stage clinical development market research, patient-based forecasting, evaluations, assessments and market conditioning.
