New York - Employees’ ongoing struggle to balance work with time off is significantly impacted by their boss, this according to Randstad US’ latest Employee Engagement Study, a study conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs among 2,279 employed adults living in the United States, ages 18 and older.
The survey found that it can be difficult for employees to get away and disconnect from work: more than a third of U.S. employees (39%) don’t believe their bosses encourage them to take allotted vacation days, and almost half (45%) say their bosses don’t help them disconnect from work while on vacation.
This survey was conducted online on behalf of Randstad US from June 10-26, 2015 among a sample of 2,279 employed adults ages 18 and older. The data was weighted to the U.S. current population data by gender, age, education and ethnicity. All sample surveys and polls may be subject to other sources of error, including, but not limited to coverage error and measurement error. The precision of Ipsos online polls are measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 2.3 percentage points for all employees.
